Cloudbase Foundation in Nepal

After the disastrous earthquake in Nepal last year, Karma Flights and The Cloudbase Foundation jumped to action and raised truly impactful amounts of support in both supplies and monetary donations. OZONE provided a donation of $10,000.00 to support the recovery efforts of the foundation. But, they are still on the ground and continue their efforts to help those that need assistance and to rebuild the communities that were devastated.

For the next 5 weeks, GoPro Inc. will be matching all donations to The Cloudbase Foundation. You can double your impact by donating at that link and help us give back to those that live in the places we love to fly. Watch the first video below to see how far the efforts have gone and what’s left to do.

Xevi Bonet flies epic flight in the Pyrenees

On Monday, April 18th Ozone’s Xevi “El Pajaro” Bonet (@xevi.bonet) and his Enzo 2 flew the longest flight in the Pyrenees ever! He shares part of his experience:

“On Sunday Aniol (X-pyr pilot) sent me a test : Monday looked great for a cross country flight in the Aragonese Pyrenees. I had to work on Tuesday so we organized a good retrieve to be sure that we made back home at a descent time. Due to the 4 hours drive to the take off we left quite early on Monday.

At 1:00 pm we took off, between cycles, into a great looking sky with perfect cloud formations but our take off was quite low just 400m of altitude.

In the beginning the air was turbulent but the west wind and the cold air helped to go faster. The landscape was incredible, it was my first time flying above this area.

The ceiling was low just 2400m but improved before we got to the wildest part of the flight: El Parque Nacional de Ordesa y Monte Perdido reaching at times 3200 m.

After 6:23h and 228.75 kms I landed at Puigcerdà the last town before crossing to France, just to make the retrieve easier.” …read more
