Adventure is what it’s all about – and no adventure comes bigger than the mighty Himalaya. That’s why we chose this image for the cover of a packed issue 161. It just has it all. It’s of Zee Monastery in the remote Spiti Valley in northern India. And it’s Shangri-La for the trio of pilots who […] …read more
Open Fai El Yelmo (Spanish League)
Our friends Xevi Bonet and Felix Rodriguez tell us that this past weeks Open Fai El Yelmo (Spanish League) in Jaén (Andalucia), south-central Spain, had some of the best conditions they’ve flown in the area. The contest had seven days of flying with five valid tasks in three different takeoffs, with cloudbase at 3,800 meters on some days. The conditions were so good for the second task, Felix, Francis Reina, Chechu Costa, and Xevi flew to the province of Toledo, 8 hours and 252 km away, after completing the task. Along with the tasks was a weekend festival featuring flying films, booths, acro demos, a paramotor contest and lots of engagement with the public.
The Open Class results saw Xevi Bonet winning the comp, with Francisco Reina, Felix Rodriguez, and Mika Diaz in the top 5 all on Enzo 2s.
See the overall results for more details.
Congrats from all the team!

The result of their journey is being chronicled in a three part series, the second of which is available now. (if you missed the first episode, watch it first.) Check out this beautiful film, read an update about current conditions in Nepal, and see Guillaume’s report below. Cheers from all the team!
A message from the filmmaker:
Nepal… An epicenter of dramatic news that moved everyone of us so deeply. We were there exactly one year ago to fly around Pokhara and trek in the surroundings of Manaslu and Gorkha… Perrine had already been working on a development project in the villages of the Annapurna Conservation Area, and has found herself a welcoming family, many acquaintances, and loving friends. We realize how devastated all these villages are now… Our Nepalese guide Rajendra, who testifies in our film, is fortunately safe and sound, but now sleeps under a tent with his family. He understandably worries about not being able to work this year because of the lack of tourists. How is the local population going to endure the three …read more
