Important Note Regarding the LTF in Germany

Over the past few years, a lack of clarity and the spread of misinformation have caused German pilots to be misled about the facts of the LTF. As we know, the LTF paraglider certification adds nothing to the safety of the wing, while adding needless red tape and potentially increasing the cost to the pilot.

The German Ministry has now confirmed that German pilots do not need to fly wings which have LTF certification, as long as the wing does have a recognised certification issued by any other official organisation from a country within the EU.

As a result of the German Transport Ministry’s review, wings like the Mojo 5 and Atom 3, which have been tested to the normal EN standards and recognized by the French authorities, are valid for sale and use by German pilots and for use in German schools. The new Mojo 5 and Atom 3 are the best wings we have ever made in these classes and we are happy that German pilots and schools can use them as easily as the rest of the pilots in Europe.

F*Lite Harness, the lightest in existence, now available

The F*Lite is finally here! It is designed especially for pilots who want the lightest gear possible, and has a final weight of approximately 100 grams. It is the lightest harness in existence, and is fully EN load tested. Since we first previewed this harness at St. Hilaire 2014, Fred has spent months refining the pilot comfort and we are now happy to launch the M size which comes in at a mere 103 grams. There will be S and L sizes at a later date. Together with the F*Lite, we are also releasing the new Big LinkLite connectors for the harness-to-riser attachment. The Big LinkLites are sold as a pair, and are not included with the F*Lite.

See paragliders and wingsuit flyers storm a castle

It’s not every day you see three paragliders in sync as wingsuit pilots speed between them. And it’s certainly not every day you see these guys playing in the skies above such a stunning castle.

Paragliders Horacio Llorens, Theo De Blic and Rafael Goberna joined the Soul Flyers, Fred Fugen and Vince Reffet, to make the incredible video produced by Shams over the scenic Peyrepertuse Castle.

World Champion Honorin Hamard Joins Ozone R&D Team

The Ozone R&D Team is growing! Dav, Luc, Russ, and Fred, are pleased to welcome Honorin Hamard to the R&D Team. “Hono” is 23 years old, and has been flying since age 13. His young age belies his calm and mature attitude, however, and all of us at Ozone have been entirely impressed with his rapid progress and mature attitude in the air – an attitude that saw him win the 2015 World Championships, win the declared goal world record in 2013 (423kms), and stand on several National podiums.

He will be working closely with the boys as a test and development pilot, and brings with him a wealth of experience and talent. Not only that, but also he dramatically reduces the average age of the Ozone test team; the future is bright!

Cheers, from all the Team.
