Spanish Nationals Results

The first event of the Spanish Nationals has come to a close after five valid tasks in tricky conditions around Berga, Barcelona. Despite the strong north-westerly wind forecast, the competition saw three tasks of 50 km, one of 83 km from Ager to Berga, and a long task of 108 km that sent the pilots over the most striking part of the Pyrenees: La Sierra de Cadi.

During the whole competition OZONE’s Xevi Bonet and Miguel Diaz (Mika) fought for the first place, but it was Xevi who, after winning 3 out of 5 tasks, took overall victory. OZONE’s Felix Rodriguez and Francisco Reina also claimed one task each. Xevi “El Pajaro” Bonet shared the podium with Miguel Diaz in 2nd, and Fran Reina in 3rd, all flying Enzo 2s. In the top 12, 10 pilots flew Enzo 2s and one pilot was flying the Mantra M6. After this competition the team who will represent Spain in the next European Paragliding Champion is decided: Xevi Bonet, Francis Reina, Felix Rodriguez, Mika Diaz and Larry Pino.
