The Wounded Warrior Project is one of many phenomenal organizations working hard to make a difference in the lives of those who were injured in combat. We would like to take a moment to show appreciation for the Pilots in the Powered Paragliding Community who continue to be involved in these organizations. Recently, Ross Kennedy of Apex Power Sports (a Powered Paragliding Instructor in North Carolina) volunteered to take part in changing the life of a US Marine and his family…

A former Camp Lejeune Marine who lost his leg while serving in Afghanistan got a whole new beginning on Thursday, March 26th. Cpl. Ryan Wightman and his loving Wife Melissa were handed the keys to their paid-in-full, brand-new home. This was courtesy of “Operation Coming Home,” a nonprofit program that builds homes for disabled combat veterans who served our Country in the Middle East.

During this highly publicized event, Paramotor Pilot Ross Kennedy flew his Powered Paraglider to the residence, delivering the keys to the custom-built 3,000 square-foot home. This captivated all those who attended the ceremony – Including Governor Pat McCory who was there to welcome the couple to their new life.
