Lex Robe’ wins Overall World XContest with his M6

Austrian XC Crack, Lex Robe’, is the 2015 World XContest Champion, flying his Mantra M6. Lex’s top six flights were all FAI triangles, the smallest one being 249.87km, and the largest being 268.21km. We have seen a lot of XC flying happen in our time, and we have to say that having six 250km triangles in a single season is extremely impressive. Nice work, Lex! And thanks for flying Ozone. Also, judging by this little edit that Lex put together, his flying skills are rivaled by his video editing skills.

Lex’s score, and flights, can be seen here on XContest.org, at the top of the list.

Cheers from all the Team, we hope the southern hemisphere XC season is a good one for those of you who can be there.

Seiko Fukuoka, Distance Ninja, and Charles Cazaux Break More Records

Seiko Fukuoka, Distance Ninja, and Charles Cazaux Break More Records
;-)

Our ninja pilot, Seiko Fukuoka, and her flying partner Charles Cazaux have both broken more records in Australia. Seiko flew a new record free distance using up to 3 turn points of 378km. Charles flew a World record 3 point free distance of 476km and Australia record free straight distance around 450km!

Yesterday, while riding the train back to her hotel, Seiko sent us a quick report on her latest record flight:

Reading the weather on this side of the planet is not an easy task. The day started, as usual, with poor conditions: shifty winds, low cloud base and a lot of stability. We knew that the northeasterly wind was going to switch to the west and later during the day we would have more instability, so we went for a late start. Taking all this in consideration I decided to go for a “Free distance using up to 3 turn points” (255 km was the female current record). For this kind of record I don’t need to fly on the same direction the whole time, I have to choose 3 waypoints between my launch and my landing, simply I just need to go with the wind.

It was my turn to …read more

Olivier Peyre Forecasted to Reach Home Goal After 7+ Years

In 2008, French paraglider pilot, Olivier Peyre, left his home in France with the idea to complete a circumnavigation of the world, by land and sea, carbon free. Olivier rode his bicycle across Europe, through Africa, all around South America, through New Zealand and across Australia, and then all the way through Asia, the middle east, and Europe again. For the ocean crossings, Olivier hitched rides on sail boats. Check out the insane route here: http://www.enrouteavecaile.com. All along the way, Olivier had a trusty Ozone Ultralite with him on his bike, and he flew countless sites with pilots from all over the planet.

After pedaling and sailing for more than 7 years, Olivier is now on the home stretch, and is planning to roll into his front yard by the end of December.
For more info please see his website and his facebook page.

Cheers from all the Team Olivier, we look forward to seeing you back in France!
