The British flying season has been delivering fantastic conditions since day one, and several records have fallen, along with many personal bests.<\/p>\n
On June 22nd, our good friend and OZONE team pilot, Jim Mallinson, completed a flight he’s been dreaming of for years: across the Solent in southern England to the Isle of Wight, where he grew up and learned to fly (before OZONE even existed). A few pilots flew to the island in the 90s, but at its west end, where the crossing is just over 1 km. Jim was over the sea for 7km. He left the mainland at 3500′ with a nice tailwind, but quickly dropped into an increasing sea breeze and arrived with just 600′ to spare, and celebrate with, above home. <\/p>\n
