AEF’s Cameleon throttle controller has been upgraded. Version 3 has a prominent easy-reach ‘off’ switch, close to the pilot’s thumb. The V3 was designed to increase the OFF action accessibility, to address the problem reported by some pilots who have difficulties to catch it in stress situation. The OFF switch is now really increase in the […] …read more

Slalom and the Future of PPG Competition
Since 2005, we at Ozone have strived to support our team pilots and customers with cutting edge PPG competition wings for all events. PPG Slalom events have evolved rapidly and we believe their direction needs some serious thought and urgent change. While Slalom racing is an exciting event, the recent tragic accidents have proven that events which focus on high-speed flying near terrain or water have much potential for accidents and injuries. The current Slalom comp format forces pilots to fly their wings at the absolute limits of their capabilities, very close to the ground. The inevitable result is that pilots have no altitude safety margin for mistakes or equipment issues.
We have seen other aspects of paragliding competition severely damaged by heavy-handed regulation and rules, and we are not in favor of a long list of highly specific interdictions against aspects of Slalom flying. But we do believe that the sports bodies and organisers have to put pilot well-being well above a drive for public entertainment.
We believe that blending Slalom flying with a modern classic competition format, in which pilots must use the same wings for Slalom as they do for economy, navigation, and precision flying tasks, may result in …read more

Rita Vogel lays down two impressive border crossing flights
Rita Vogel reports two impressive flights within about a week of each other crossing from Portugal into Spain flying her Delta 2. Rita is originally from Hungary. She flew both times from Serra da Estrela, landing in Piedrahita after 187km just to beat her new personal best the following week with a 232km flight (OLC / optimized distance). Both flights took around 6 hours and showed once again the potential of the place for stress free XC and the very good performance of the Delta 2. She reports being really comfortable with the glider, allowing her to focus only on the flight and go far.

Seiko Crushes the PWC
At the most recent PWC event in Disentis, Switzerland, Ozone team pilot Seiko Fukuoka Naville delivered what is probably the all-time best performance of any woman in the history of paragliding competition. Almost one thousand points ahead of the second place woman, Seiko finished in 20th place overall, beating the vast majority of the men while flying with a serious speed disadvantage.
Ozone pilots took 6 out of the top 10 spots, with Stefan Wyss in second place overall flying his Enzo 2, just behind fellow local Chrigel Maurer. The local Swiss flew well, as usual, sweeping the top four spots. The competition was, by all accounts, a beautiful event in a stunning locale!
Overall results, and women’s.
Cheers, from all the Team.
